Louws Truss is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team at our Cashmere location. Candidates must possess the desire and ability to maintain heavy duty automated machinery in a production environment. The role is to ensure successful maintenance and repair of the machinery and supporting engineering projects. A background in engineering, automation and robotics will be considered more desirable. Training for this position will be on the day shift from 6:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. after training is complete, this position will transition into a shift that makes sense to support production and special projects. May be called in after hours when needed to repair machinery for production needs, must be open to Overtime. Wage for this position $24.00-$27.00 D.O.E. with a possible increase after a successful 90-day review. Responsibilities: - Provides technical assistance as needed, to include the safe use of tools and equipment, training employees on proper procedures, techniques, and safety precautions - Schedules and coordinates preventative and predictive maintenance and mechanical tasks as identified - Operates manual and computerized work order systems, documenting work activities, backlog, and necessary records for plant operation - Provide facility maintenance as needed - Potentially work on forklifts, and other outdoor machinery - Participates in process improvement in the department and other areas of the plant - Works on engineering projects as needed - Assist in Robotic Integration and Other Innovative Initiatives - Participates in maintenance and production meetings providing feedback and status on activities
Experience and Qualifications:
Required* - Technical knowledge of maintenance and repair - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Working knowledge of steel and aluminum specifications - Equipment and automation - Equipment Modifications and Retrofits - Fabrication experience such as welding, machining, grinding, and custom builds - Proficient in written and verbal communication skills - Able to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with others - Minor machining, welding, electrical, pneumatics, mechanical, hydraulics, conveyors, electrical distribution systems - Problem Solving - 5+ years ‘experience in related field - Working knowledge of wood cutting equipment, saws, wood product assembly, automation, and other machinery used in plant operations
Desired - Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Degree or Other engineering discipline - Forklift Certification - Lean Manufacturing implementation, total productive maintenance systems, asset preservation, and process improvement
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. - Be Able to Work in a Dusty Loud Environment - Must tolerate heights up to 35 ft - Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch, climbing, ladders - May work outdoors during Winter and Summer months
