Louws Truss is currently seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join the team at our Burlington location. Candidates do not require any experience in maintenance as this position is intended to be a platform for training and education to move into a maintenance technician or engineering technician in the future. Position will initially be to assist the maintenance engineering department with special projects while participating in in-house training.
Louws Truss will also provide tuition reimbursement opportunities through a technical or community program either in Industrial Maintenance or Manufacturing Engineering Technology or comparable program approved by Maintenance Engineering Manager.
Position will be a day shift from 7:30- 4:00PM and can transition into a shift that makes sense to support production and special projects. Monday-Friday. Must be flexible due to special project timelines and deadlines
Starting Pay $20.00 + DOE with an increase after successful 90-day review.

Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance labor support with relocation and installing equipment into new facility
- Assist with painting, cutting material, measuring, and other various support tasks
- Utilize Central Maintenance Management System
- Conduct weekly inventory counts and ordering
- Order material and run errands for the department

Training:
- Participate in department cross training program for all plant equipment
- Shadow and assist current maintenance staff in daily tasks and repair
- Participate in formalized in house training on the following:

• Total Productive Maintenance
• Lean Manufacturing
• Root Cause Analysis

Required:
- High School Diploma or GED Completion
- Able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with others
- Be able to take direction and receive constructive feedback
- Consistent on time attendance and punctuality
- Be able to properly use a PC

Desired:
- 1 Year of any hands on mechanical or technical work in any environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or CAD applications
- Experience with basic hand tools and cordless tools
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Be Able to Work in a Dusty Loud Environment
- Must tolerate heights up to 35 ft
- Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch, climbing, ladders
- May work outdoors during Winter and Summer months
