Louws Truss has an opening for a FacilitySupport Technician in the Maintenance Department at our Burlington location. Candidate must possess the desire and ability to maintain heavy duty automated machinery in a production environment. This position provides support on various special projects in the facility and assist maintenance staff with tasks related to fabrication, minor equipment repair, and other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time position on the day shift from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and can transition into a shift that makes sense to support production and special projects. Ideally Tuesday-Saturday.
Wage for this position $18.50 per hour with possible increase upon a successful 90-day review.
Qualifications: • Welding and Fabrication: 1 year (Required) • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required) • High School or equivalent (Preferred) • Driver's License (Preferred)
Primary Responsibilities : • Fabrication and Welding Support • Conduct all non- equipment repairs and preventative maintenance projects • Perform repairs to support the facilities needs • Assist Maintenance Technicians with repairs as needed • Respond to requests from Production and Trucking Department • Work in a Centralized Maintenance Management System
Secondary Responsibilities : • Be the back up support on equipment preventative maintenance • Maintain fabrication and welding area • Maintain production tool inventory and fabricate special tools when needed Requirements and Qualifications : • 1 Year experience welding and fabrication of steel – Required • Able to operate; Table Saw, Chop Saw, Drills, Band Saw, Drill Press • Basic to moderate Mechanical Skills – Required • Able to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with others • Basic computer skills – Required • Problem solving • Be self-motivated
Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift and/or move to 50 – 75 lbs. • Be Able to Work in a Dusty Loud Environment • Must tolerate heights up to 35 ft • Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch, climbing, ladders • May work outdoors during Winter and Summer months
